The QEH Comfort Suite:
A Place to Stay Close to Care
Receiving care at our Island’s main referral hospital can mean more than the appointment; it can bring the emotional and financial burden of being far from home during an already difficult time.
Thanks to a generous gift from Bevan Enterprises and generous donations from the community, the new QEH Comfort Suite is now ready to welcome its first guests. This dedicated apartment will provide a safe, welcoming space for patients and families facing urgent or exceptional needs.
Every contribution helps create a safe, welcoming space for Islanders facing difficult moments. Any funds raised beyond the $10,000 goal will support the QEH Social Work Fund.
FAQ
Why does the QEH Foundation need to raise $10,000?
To open the QEH Comfort Suite to families quickly, the space needs to be furnished with everything from beds and linens to kitchen essentials and bathroom essentials. Furnishing the suite helps provide a space where families feel safe, comfortable, and at ease during difficult medical journeys.
What happens if you raise more than $10,000?
Any funds beyond the $10,000 goal will support the QEH Social Work Fund, helping Social Workers respond to urgent, unexpected patient needs with speed and compassion.
Are you accepting donations of furniture or household items?
For this specific project, we prefer monetary donations allowing the Social Work team to furnish the suite safely, consistently, and in a timely way that meets the standards of the diverse needs of the families who will stay there.
