Islanders Raise Nearly $60,000 for Breast Cancer Equipment in Ultimate Shed Giveaway
JULY 8, 2026
CHARLOTTETOWN, PE – The Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH) Foundation is proud to announce the successful completion of the 2026 Ultimate Shed Giveaway, raising an incredible $59,926 in support of breast health care at the QEH. This year’s grand prize, Linden Hollow—a professionally designed, fully furnished luxury shed valued at over $40,000—was awarded to Denis Gignac of Spring Valley during a live draw held at Kent Charlottetown on July 3rd.

Now in its sixth year, the Ultimate Shed Giveaway is a community-led campaign spearheaded by Jennie Arsenault of Arsenault Bros. Construction, Sara Dykerman of Plank & Pine Interior Design, and Jim Power of Kent Building Supplies. To date through this campaign, supporters have raised nearly $366,000 to fund the purchase of essential breast health equipment and technology at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital.
“The Ultimate Shed continues to be a wonderful example of what can be accomplished when community partners come together in support of healthcare.” says Tracey Comeau, CEO of QEH Foundation. “Thanks to the generosity of the volunteers, businesses, sponsors and ticket purchasers who made this project possible, every dollar raised will support this priority equipment need at our Island’s main referral hospital.”
This year, proceeds will help fund the purchase of a Navigator 2.0 Control Unit and Lymphatic Mapping Probes, which is vital equipment used during breast cancer surgery.
“This technology helps provide more accurate staging and surgical outcomes, supports better decision-making, and ultimately leads to stronger outcomes for patients,” explains Cindy Barry, Nurse Manager, Surgical Services. “Without this equipment, these procedures would be limited or delayed, and more patients may need to travel or face longer wait times for care.”
Each year, about 250 Islanders rely on this type of surgery at the QEH.
The QEH Foundation extends heartfelt thanks to all who contributed to this year’s success—ticket buyers, volunteers, sponsors, and the dedicated team behind Linden Hollow. It truly takes a village!
