The Queen Elizabeth Hospital Auxiliary Inc. is a volunteer organization that is a leading provider of funds and services for the patients and staff of the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, as well as education and fellowship for its members. The main sources of income for the Auxiliary are three shops located in the lobby of the QEH: Lillibet’s Gift Shop, Royal Pantry Eatery, and Auxiliary Coffee.

• QEH Auxiliary General Manager of Shops (Full-time, Permanent)
  • Oversee daily operations of three Auxiliary gift shops
  • Lead and support staff across all locations
  • Manage inventory, ordering, and supplier relations
  • Monitor sales, budgets, and financial reporting
  • Maintain a welcoming, service-focused environment
  • Ideal for someone with retail leadership and non-profit/volunteer experience
• Supervisor for Royal Pantry Eatery and Auxiliary Coffee (Full-time, Permanent)
  • Oversee daily operations of the Royal Pantry Eatery and Auxiliary Coffee Shop
  • Ensure cleanliness, safety, and exceptional customer service
  • Manage opening/closing procedures and shift coverage
  • Recruit, train, and support volunteers and staff
  • Handle inventory, ordering, and restocking in a computerized system
  • Assist with budgets and financial reporting
  • Promote a welcoming, service-driven environment

Our Impact

The QEH Auxiliary has raised more than $6 million for the QEH since its inception in 1982.  Their donations have had a significant impact on health care in Prince Edward Island supporting both medical equipment and patient care and comfort. Highlights include:

• Leadership in a project enabling the recruitment of QEH’s first ophthalmologist
• Funding one of the first two digital mammography machines for the QEH
• A donation of $500,000 to establish the Provincial Neonatal Intensive Care Unit
• Funding the first Instrument Tracking System to increase overall safety of patient care at the QEH
• Hug-A-Bears for children

• Television service for qualifying inpatients
• Wi-Fi service for Units 1,2,3,4, and 8
• Furniture for ICU Family Room, Mammography Waiting Area, Chapel and Emergency Department
• Emergency kits for Social Work Department for patients
