Callum’s Sunflowers

Each fall, Nancy Russell holds a special sunflower fundraiser in memory of her son, Callum, who passed away from cancer at 15. During his time at the QEH, Callum was cared for by the Pediatrics team. Now, she gives back to help other children receiving care at the QEH.

In partnership with Lil Farm On The Jib (84 MacLennan Rd, Hazelbrook) Nancy will be selling 10 sunflowers for $10 on Sunday, September 14, from 10am–2pm. Every bloom sold supports the QEH Pediatrics Unit through the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Foundation. 

Sunflowers have always been special to Nancy and her family. They bloom around Callum’s birthday and sunflower seeds were shared with loved ones at his celebration of life. They are seen as a lasting symbol of hope, love, and optimism.
